Welcome to CCC

Children’s Community Center is a parent participation, cooperative preschool — the oldest cooperative preschool west of the Mississippi. We have a year-round, play-based, developmental program, directed and managed by parents in cooperation with a professional teaching staff. Since 1927, successive generations of parents have contributed their time, energy and love to maintain this healthy place for children to learn and grow.

The following video provides a great overview of CCC – an explanation of what we mean by play-based education, what parent participation means, some information about afternoon programs, and more.

Our primary program runs from 9:00 am-12:30 pm Monday through Friday. We offer extended care from 8:00-9:00 am and 12:30-5:30 pm. Families participate in their child’s classroom one morning a week.

If you are interested in applying, you must tour the school first. Call us to ask questions or schedule a tour.

Memories and The Lack of Memories

I am writing this for two reasons. The first, I’m curious to see where this will show up. The second, because it is the last day for the class of 2012, and I’m sad and excited at the same time. It’s a little like hopping out of the pool during the shady part of the day – the breeze and damp make your skin
