Celebrating 85 Years!

Children’s Community Center is a parent participation, cooperative preschool — the oldest cooperative preschool west of the Mississippi. We have a year-round, play-based, developmental program, directed and managed by parents in cooperation with a professional teaching staff. Since 1927, successive generations of parents have contributed their time, energy and love to maintain this healthy place for children to learn and grow.

Our primary program runs from 9:00 am-12:30 pm Monday through Friday. We offer extended care from 8:00-9:00 am and 12:30-5:30 pm. Families participate in their child’s classroom one morning a week.

CCC’s very own alumna and Front Yard teacher-director, Allyssa Lamb, was named the City of Berkeley’s Early Childhood Education Champion of the Year in 2007. We are so proud of her — and of all our teachers — for the love, care and creativity they give to our children every day.
